It’s a . . . . . .

Human!! Just kidding. We went to the Perinatalogist today to get our 20 week (technically 18 week, 6 day) ultrasound. We had to go to a specialist due to our history of congenital heart defects. The ultrasound tech did an in-depth look at little bit’s heart, and everything looked perfect! I was able to breathe a sigh of relief. They still want to see me again at 30 weeks, just to be safe and look at the heart again. When the tech asked us if we wanted to know the gender, she was met with a resounding YES! Baby boo was being a bit shy, though, and she had to wait for the babe to uncross his/her legs so that she could see. Finally, she was able to get the money shot, and she said, “It’s a girl!” I must say, I cried a little bit. I know it is silly, but it always makes it seem so real to me once I find out the gender. It suddenly hit me that we were blessed with another baby girl! She was so cute. She had her little hand up by her face dramatically. She will fit right in.

Scott was completely silent, and I had the crazy thought that it was because he was disappointed. But when I looked over, I saw him grinning from ear to ear and busily texting the news to all our friends and family.

So, we will not have to buy a whole bunch of boy stuff (not as of right now, anyway). However, if Scott were the Lord of Downton Abbey, he would be in a desperate situation. Four daughters and no heir! We would make for a lovely Jane Austen novel. Hopefully, they all find their Mr. Darcys;)

Thank you for all of your love and support! We couldn’t be more excited to welcome another baby girl into the family in May.

  2. How exciting! One of our babies kept her legs crossed and would not reveal the gender…but I did guess that she was a girl! Hope the second half goes smoothly for you 😊

Thank you! Yeah, everyone else makes such a big deal about whether your children are girls or boys, I sometimes forget that my husband is not one of them and couldn’t care less! Thank goodness.

Congratulations! Wow, four beautiful daughters. What a blessing from God! Trying to hold off on finding out what the sex of this one is until it’s born. We have a boy and a girl already. I can’t wait to know her name!

You are a much more patient person than I! It does make the birth that much more fun, though. Yeah, I can’t wait to find out her name either! We are running out of names we can both agree on, lol.
